2026 Annual Meeting Election Notice

Volunteers are critical to the success of Great Erie Federal Credit Union. Our Board of Directors and committee members are all volunteers dedicated to serving the Credit Union's members. Each year, the Credit Union is required to elect board members and conduct an Annual Meeting.

For 2026, there are three open positions on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee is pleased to nominate the following members for 3-year terms on the Board of Directors, beginning March 12, 2026:

• John Naughton

William Even
I have served on the board of the Great Erie Federal Credit Union since 2017. I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to work with a very dedicated group of people — both the GEFCU staff and the volunteers who serve on the board of directors — who continue to provide valuable services to our members and the community. I hope you will consider me for a third term.

Laurie Stuntz
I am seeking the position of Director so that I can continue to serve the members of GEFCU and share my passion and knowledge about financial success. The GEFCU mission for “Teaching members how to yield a great life with compassion-based member services, industry-leading technology and products, and goal-oriented financial wellness” continues to stand out to me as I have spent my entire career focused on financial literacy and helping people make the most of their savings. This mission aligns with my personal and professional passions around financial well-being. I first had the opportunity to join the Great Erie Federal Credit Union Board in September 2023 as an Associate Director. In August 2024, I took the interim role of Director and have been serving out the remainder of my predecessor’s term since then. I have very much enjoyed my time serving the GEFCU community through my board work and by attending various training sessions to help us continue to serve the GEFCU staff and members in the best way possible. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving a full term in office.

John Naughton
I am submitting my name for consideration as Director of the Great Erie Federal Credit Union. With over 30 years of experience in management and consulting, I have developed a strong foundation in business, engineering, and organizational leadership. My educational background includes a master’s degree in business management with a focus on executive management, and my career has spanned roles in engineering, quality assurance, senior management, and consulting across the Midwest. My reason for seeking election is to enhance the Board's collective strengths. While current members already have deep banking expertise, I believe my consulting experience and the knowledge I gained from my studies—especially in economics—will add value. During college, I conducted research on economic growth and contraction, which gave me unique insights that I am eager to apply to support the Board’s work and contribute to Great Erie FCU's continued success.

Other members in good standing may seek nomination to the Board by submitting a short resume and obtaining signatures from 95 current Great Erie FCU members on a petition. Both forms can be obtained at the Credit Union office (716.662.1311) or from the Secretary of the Board of Directors, 4000 N. Buffalo Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127. The Secretary of the Board must receive signed petitions and resumes by February 12, 2026. 

*The credit union will not conduct the election by ballot, and there will be no nominations from the floor if the number of nominees is equal to the number of open positions.
