Important Merger Timeline and Next Steps

We are thrilled to have you with us as we complete our operational merger with IRS Buffalo FCU. To keep you in the loop, here's a friendly timeline of what to expect from now until July 2, 2025:

📢 Debit card processing and activation timeframes are currently being finalized by our vendor.

📅 May 1 - May 31

  • Our dedicated team is busy behind the scenes, setting up your membership, share, and loan records in our system.
  • If you currently use online BillPay through IRS Buffalo FCU, please note your payees and scheduled payments - you will need to recreate them in Great Erie's system after July 1.
  • Watch for our updated fee schedule, which we will share this month.
  • As part of our transition, you'll receive information about our Overdraft Privilege Program (ODP) and the extended coverage option. Expect these communications towards the end of May and early June. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Great Erie FCU member service department. 

📅 June 1 - June 30

  • We'll finalize your records this month and perform thorough checks with our core banking systems.
  • Expect a new Great Erie FCU debit card arriving by mid-June! If it hasn't made it to you by June 17, just give us a call for a quick replacement.
  • Remember to continue documenting your BillPay setup. You will want to re-enter this information in our new platform in July.

📅 July 1

  • Great Erie will be CLOSED on Tuesday, July 1st, for final data migration and merger completion.

🌟 July 2 - Merger Completion Day 🌟

  • Your account is officially live on Great Erie's systems.
  • Here's what you can start doing:

✅ Enroll in online banking at www.GreatErieFCU.com ➡Click "OLB Login" ➡ Select "First time user? Enroll in online banking."

✅ Download our mobile app after you complete your online enrollment.

✅ Your ACH deposits/withdrawals, existing checks, and direct deposits will continue to work seamlessly without any changes.

✅ You'll receive a free order of new checks, valid through the end of 2025 - just give our Member Services a quick call to request them.

✅ Your member number will change to a new 7-digit number starting with "4." For instance, if your IRS number was 1234, it will now be 4001234.

✅ We are also giving you a new checking account MICR number. No worries—your old MICR number will still work for any payments or deposits you have set up.

You can access your accounts as usual.  

We are thrilled to announce that our two IRS Buffalo branch locations will be open and ready for business starting Monday, March 3, 2025. We look forward to serving you at our convenient locations with the following hours:

**Appletree Cheektowaga Branch** Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

**Downtown Buffalo Branch** Tuesday and Thursday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
