Scholarship Program


Great Erie Federal Credit Union participates in the New York Credit Union Association's statewide college scholarship program. Last year, this program awarded $25,500 in scholarships to 27 students across New York. 

Students can take advantage of this opportunity by completing three simple steps:

  1. Stop in to either our Orchard Park office or our East Aurora branch to request a scholarship application form OR acquire it by clicking the following link to a printable PDF file. 2019 Scholarship Application  If the student is not a member of Great Erie FCU, he/she can request to meet with one of our Member Service Reps to become a Great Erie member. 
  2. Complete the application form, write an essay and obtain the required test transcripts, along with the signature of a parent or guardian. 
  3. Return the completed application to Great Erie no later than January 4, 2019

There is no fee for submitting an application, but students applying MUST be:

  • Members of Great Erie FCU
  • College-bound high school senior at the time of application; and
  • Attending either a two-or-four-year accredited educational institution for the first time in the fall of 2017.

In early spring, applications will be judged against other submissions statewide. Winners will be announced in May 2019.

The Charlotte Ash Community Leader Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to an Orchard Park High school graduating senior in good academic standing, is named in honor of one of our founding members of the credit union, Charlotte Ash. It recognizes a student that exhibits strong leadership abilities and commitment to community. The scholarship is released in the spring of 2019. 

Students interested in applying for the Charlotte Ash Community Leader Scholarship MUST:

  • Be a member of Great Erie Federal Credit Union
  • Be an enrolled high school senior at Orchard Park High School
  • Apply through the OPHS Universal Scholarship Application available through the high school guidance dept. 
Applications will be reviewed and awarded in May 2019.
