Scholarship Program

The New York Credit Union Association Scholarship Program 

This $500.00 scholarship (application) is available in the fall of each year. The applicant must be a MEMBER in good standing with Great Erie FCU. The scholarship is awarded in May. The winning student from Great Erie will also be entered to win additional scholarship funds at the regional and state level. Recipients are selected based on academic and extracurricular achievements, community involvement and leadership roles. Students can take advantage of this opportunity by completing the following steps:

Stop in to our Orchard Park or East Aurora branch to request a scholarship application form or acquire it by clicking the following links to printable PDF files.

Complete the application form, write an essay and obtain the required test transcripts, along with the signature of a parent or guardian. 

Return the completed form to Great Erie no later than January 5, 2018

There is no fee for submitting an application, but students applying MUST be:

  • Members of Great Erie FCU
  • College-Bound High School Seniors at the time of the application and
  • Attending either a two-or-four year accredited education institution for the first time in the fall of 2018.

In early spring, applications will be judged against other applicants statewide. Winner will be announced in May 2018.


The Charlotte Ash Community Leader Scholarship     

This $500.00 scholarship is awarded to an Orchard Park High School graduating senior in good academic standing. The student must be a current member at Great Erie Federal Credit Union. This scholarship is released in the spring as part of the Orchard Park High School Universal Scholarship Application and recognizes a student that exhibits strong leadership abilities and commitment to community. This scholarship is named in honor of founding member, Charlotte Ash. 

Interested students MUST be:

  • Members of Great Erie FCU
  • An enrolled high school senior at Orchard Park High School
The application is the OPHS Universal Scholarship Application available through the high school. Applications will be reviewed and awarded in May of 2018.
